Job Title: Carbon Specialist
Join us as a Carbon Specialist and contribute to a pioneering nuclear programme. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence the LCA landscape at Cavendish Nuclear, working at both business and project levels. You will collaborate with engineering, design, and assurance teams to embed and refine carbon management processes within PP&E projects.
- Develop sustainability and LCA strategies across current projects, creating exemplar processes for future Cavendish projects.
- Coordinate with the supply chain to gather EPDs and environmental data for LCA assessments.
- Assess initial carbon baselines, such as glovebox assessments, and recommend process improvements using appropriate tools.
- Align schedules and delivery of information with design and assurance teams.
- Assist in communicating the carbon opportunities register to clients.
- Engage with wider programme partners on carbon-related initiatives and upskilling.
- Support bid processes by considering carbon management solutions.
Note: The successful candidate will need to pass a medical questionnaire/examination. This is a full-time role (37 hours/week) with hybrid working, based at Warrington or Bristol hubs.
Essential Experience
- Experience in delivering carbon footprinting and LCA across complex projects.
- Background in sustainability and carbon reduction project management, including budgeting, reporting, and risk assessment.
- Knowledge of LCA methodologies and data sources (e.g., PAS2080, GHG Protocol).
- Proficiency with LCA tools such as One Click LCA or SimaPro.
- Stakeholder engagement experience, including with clients and asset owners.
Qualifications
- Degree in engineering or related mechanical engineering experience.
- Additional qualifications in science, environmental topics, or procurement are advantageous.
- Certifications in LCA or carbon management (e.g., ISO14040, LCACP).
- Membership in relevant institutions like IEMA is desirable.
