Join JLR as a Lead Engineer – Road Load Data in our Engineering Laboratories team, where you will play a crucial role in enhancing vehicle durability through precise measurement and testing. This position is integral to our Engineering Operations business unit, supporting multiple Tech Centres by providing in-vehicle and rig-based measurements. You will have access to state-of-the-art measurement and test facilities that are essential for verifying and signing off on vehicle, commodity, and system-level targets.
In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for preparing and testing prototype vehicles primarily in the UK, with opportunities to work at European proving grounds. We are looking for measurement engineers who excel in the careful application of transducer technologies, as well as those skilled in data verification, analysis, and reporting. Your expertise will directly contribute to ensuring our vehicles meet rigorous performance standards and requirements.

Engage in the hands-on preparation of vehicles with transducers and instrumentation to measure acceleration, load, displacement, pressure, and temperature

Utilize knowledge of vehicle networks and their role in active system control, integration, and measurement

Assist in collecting data on public roads and proving grounds, both domestically and occasionally overseas

Work across all stages of motor vehicle development, from initial prototypes to series production, including analysis, verification of measured data, reporting findings, and developing transducers for real-time vehicle input measurement

Valid Driving License: Must possess a valid and clean driving license
