Summary:

The Media Rights Manager will coordinate central management and exploitation of SailGP’s ancillary media rights portfolio. This role ensures the company secures the best licensing deals, optimizes content distribution, and maximizes revenue across various platforms. Key responsibilities include managing media rights agreements, negotiating deals, and ensuring compliance with licensing terms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ancillary Rights Exploitation – Lead initiatives for the exploitation of ancillary SailGP media rights including VOD, News Access, imagery, data, AI/LLM and others.
  • Sponsor-led Distribution – Oversee the successful distribution of branded content and sponsor-funded programming such as Racing on the Edge
  • SailGP Team Liaison – Manage relationships and process with SailGP teams regarding provision and exploitation of content in line with team usage rights in order to drive wi outcomes for the League & Teams.
  • Revenue Optimization & Digital Content Partnerships:Develop strategies to maximize revenue generation from media rights, including exploring new distribution channels and partnerships. Oversee the distribution of content (written, image, video, data) across digital platforms and publishers, driving visibility and revenue.
  • Compliance and Legal: Ensure all media rights activities comply with relevant laws and regulations, including copyright and intellectual property rights.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with media partners and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor the media landscape, identify trends, and analyze competitor activities to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Budget Management: Manage budgets associated with media rights distribution.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare reports on media rights performance, track key metrics, and provide insights to management.

About You:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the sports, media, or entertainment industry, with a strong understanding of media rights and licensing agreements.
  • Negotiation and Communication: Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commercial Awareness: Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify and capitalize on business opportunities.
  • Legal and Compliance: Knowledge of media law, copyright, and intellectual property rights.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Google Suite and experience with CRM systems.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, track performance, and provide insights.
  • Organization and Prioritization: Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with different departments.

Location:

London, United Kingdom. Hybrid working model with a minimum of 3 days per week in the London Office.
