Senior Project Officer – Connect to Work Programme

About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experiencedSenior Project Officer to support the delivery of theConnect to Work Programme —a voluntary, locally-ledSupported Employment initiative launched under the UK Government’sGet Britain Working strategy. The programme is designed to help people with disabilities, long-term health conditions, or complex barriers to employment toenter and sustain meaningful work .
Croydon Council is theAccountable Body , managing the delivery across the five boroughs within theSouth London Partnership .
As a key member of the team, you will work closely with the Programme Manager, external contractors, and borough partners to ensure the programme meets its objectives and delivers high-quality services. You will also play a vital role inperformance monitoring ,stakeholder engagement , andservice integration .
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Programme Manager in coordinating and delivering the Connect to Work Programme.
- Manage discrete projects and provide project support across the SLP boroughs.
- Monitor project progress, analyse performance data, and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead stakeholder engagement and service integration to improve referral pathways.
- Represent the programme at strategic meetings and external events.
- Support contract management and assurance visits with delivery partners.
- Develop and present performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Experience & Skills:
- Proven experience in project and programme delivery within a local authority or public sector setting.
- Strong understanding of employability programmes and externally funded interventions.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Analytical skills to interpret complex data and produce high-quality reports.
- Experience in performance monitoring, contract compliance, and team leadership.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant IT tools.
