Engineering Manager – Basket & Checkout (35891)

As we grow our digital capabilities, we\’re looking for an experienced and passionate Engineering Manager to lead our Basket & Checkout squad. This team plays a vital role in our e-commerce experience, helping millions of customers every year complete their wellness journey with ease and confidence.
As Engineering Manager for our Basket & Checkout squad, you\’ll play a central role in owning the delivery of reliable, performant, and user-centric software. Working closely with Product and Tech leadership, you\’ll ensure our checkout experience is as simple and seamless as our customers expect.
Your responsibilities will include:
Technical Leadership
Own and evolve the technical direction of the team, ensuring it aligns with our wider platform strategy.
Lead architecture design and code quality practices, championing scalability, security, and modern engineering principles.
Promote innovation and continuous improvement across tooling, development practices, and infrastructure.
Mentor, support, and grow a talented team of engineers—fostering a culture of trust, ownership, and continuous learning.
Drive hiring, onboarding, and career development, helping your team thrive and perform at their best.

SoftwareDelivery
Partner with Product Managers and Technical Program Managers to deliver against ambitious, customer-focused roadmaps.
Lead sprint planning, manage team capacity, and balance priorities across features, tech debt, and operational improvements.
Ensure robust CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and monitoring systems are in place to support rapid, high-quality releases.
Be the go-to technical leader for your area, clearly communicating progress, plans, and risks to stakeholders.
Work cross-functionally with other squads to manage dependencies and deliver cohesive customer experiences.
Represent the team in wider forums, ensuring engineering insights and feedback are heard and actioned.
Key requirements:
5+ years of engineering leadership experience, managing teams of 8+ engineers.
Proven success building and scaling distributed systems using modern cloud-native technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, microservices).
A deep understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, and DevOps culture.
Strong architectural and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on mindset when needed.
An empathetic and motivational leadership style—able to guide teams through ambiguity and change.
