The Finance Assistant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth operation of daily finance processes. The role covers a range of financial tasks, including bookkeeping, rent and factoring postings, purchase and sales ledger management, banking, petty cash handling, and nominal analysis., * Maintain and update financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

  • Process journal entries and reconcile accounts.

  • Regularly update and maintain the computerised cash-book and nominal ledger.

  • Post rent and factoring payments, refunds, and adjustments onto the Housing Management System.

  • Investigate and reconcile unidentified payments, liaising with internal departments and external organisations as required.

  • Download, code, and process supplier invoices.

  • Import and check invoice accuracy, including nominal coding.

  • Process purchase payments and prepare manual cheque runs when required.

  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies.

  • Ensure sales ledger invoices are raised in a timely manner.

  • Process payments received and match them against invoices.

  • Manage the petty cash float, ensuring accurate disbursement and reconciliation.

  • Maintain financial records for petty cash transactions.

  • Assist in nominal account reconciliation’s and financial analysis.

  • Prepare schedules for management and annual accounts.

  • Support the preparation of factoring invoices.

  • Provide administrative support to the finance team.

  • Assist in preparing financial reports and documentation.
