We are pleased to offer an opportunity for an enthusiastic clinical pharmacist to join the pharmacy team at Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust at this exciting time in the development of our services.
You will be part of our progressive Pharmacy team and contribute to the implementation of the Medicines Optimisation and Pharmacy Services strategy, striving for excellence to provide the highest standards of care for our patients., To deliver a high quality specialist clinical Pharmacy service.
To provide specialist clinical support to Advanced Clinical Pharmacist(s) in a specific clinical specialty area.
To undertake routine clinical Pharmacy duties in designated areas of work, both clinical and operational and ensure compliance with medicines legislation.
To support pharmacy service areas in the department on a rotational basis. This may include dispensaries, technical services and medicines information.
Departmental duties will require the individual where appropriate to take a clinical supervisory role. Day to day management of the whole staff group will rest with the Specialist pharmacy technician/manager of that area.
To undertake the professional duties of a pharmacist within the Trust’s service.
To ensure, under the guidance of the relevant Pharmacy manager, appropriate supervision of Pharmacy Technicians, Assistant Technical Officers and Trainee pharmacists and to provide mentoring of junior pharmacists in order to maintain strict compliance with checking and working procedures.
In addition to excellent communication and clinical skills you will have previous experience of working within a clinical environment. You will have completed a post-graduate diploma in clinical pharmacy, be near to completion, or have the equivalent relevant clinical experience and skills to support your work. Evidence of multi-disciplinary teamwork would be advantageous. You must be registered as a pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
You will contribute to the weekend rota and emergency duty rota. You may also be required to contribute to the late night rota.
You will also be encouraged to undertake the Non-Medical Prescribing course if you have not already done so.
