This role is based in our 5 Howick Place office.
We are seeking to hire a Head of AI Governance to lead Informa\’s Responsible AI efforts and contribute to the evolution of our AI Policy Framework for the Informa Group. Sitting within Informa\’s Privacy Team the role will involve working closely with our technology teams building and deploying leading AI technologies and our business teams using these tools. Additionally this role will work with the Privacy Team, the Commercial Data Governance Team and our broader Legal & Governance colleagues. The key aim is to ensure that we make the most of our opportunities with AI whilst ensuring our development and uses of AI technologies are transparent, ethical and compliant with relevant regulations and that colleagues across Informa understand their responsibilities when developing, procuring and/or deploying AI‐based solutions.
Your Role Lead the development and deployment of Informa\’s Responsible AI programme (policy, standards, resourcing, training, processes, technologies, etc.)
Be Informa\’s internal expert advisor on the regulatory, policy and technical matters relating to Responsible AI.
Manage and evolve our AI impact assessment workflow; reviewing assessments for compliance, flagging risks and documenting mitigations while aligning and integrating with parallel assessments (e.g. privacy and cybersecurity) to simplify compliance.
Develop standard metrics and report on the operationalisation of Informa\’s AI Governance Framework.
Develop and maintain a master register of AI deployments across Informa documenting use cases, risks, reporting criteria, etc.
Actively participate in the AI Council to advise on policy and regulatory developments.
Regularly report on Responsible AI implementation and risk management to senior management.
Lead the development and delivery of a training & communication plan for the roll‐out of Responsible AI in Informa focused on continually increasing AI governance maturity across the enterprise.
Be the resident expert for the Legal & Governance (L&G) team to help us make the most of AI tools. Lead the identification of AI use cases for L&G and be the conduit to technical teams to ensure the L&G teams\’ use cases are prioritised and delivered.
Continually horizon‐scan for policy, regulatory and legal developments in Responsible AI, ensuring that Informa\’s AI implementations are compliant with internal policies as well as relevant laws and regulations. Attend events to represent Informa, provide thought leadership and share knowledge.
Work with Informa\’s Global Privacy Counsel to advise business stakeholders on legal requirements relating to AI.
Liaise closely with Privacy Team members on aspects of AI regulation that are interlinked with privacy compliance.
Qualifications Minimum of 8 years of experience in governance roles. Experience may not have been exclusively focused on AI governance but should have involved consideration of technical, legal and commercial factors to assess risk and advise business clients (e.g. privacy and data protection advisory work).
Deep understanding of Responsible AI challenges: the technical, policy and regulatory risks that AI technologies raise for Informa customers and colleagues across a multitude of jurisdictions worldwide.
Understanding of AI systems and capabilities: the technologies, the emerging field and how these are deployed within an enterprise.
Get things done: highly organised, resourceful and action‐oriented with experience driving focus, clarity and prioritisation in a fast‐paced environment.
Leadership: experience leading small teams and developing junior colleagues.
Decision‐making: ability to work pragmatically, having confidence to make quick decisions based on available data and move forward at pace in an environment of ambiguity.
Comms and visibility: effective at managing expectations and communications (written and verbal) to all levels and disciplines in the organisation.
Organisational smarts: experience working in a matrix‐based organisation, building relationships and trust across a range of teams and functions. Know and understand how to bring people with you.
