Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Greenwich to assist with the appointment of a Senior Executive Support Officer , on a 2-month contract , highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay : £19.40 – £24.51 per hour

Summary:

The Senior Executive Support Officer is responsible for delivering high-level executive and administrative support to the Director of Housing and Safer Communities. This includes managing governance processes, executive communications, casework, diary coordination, and stakeholder engagement. The role demands excellent judgment, political awareness, and the ability to work with senior officers and external stakeholders to uphold the strategic priorities of the Directorate and the Council.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and prioritise the Directors complex schedule, ensuring strategic alignment and minimal conflicts.
  • Oversee and triage the Directors inbox; draft responses and escalate high-priority issues appropriately.
  • Coordinate national and regional travel and accommodation logistics for senior leaders.
  • Act as the first point of contact for high-level communications, including councillors, MPs, and partner agencies.
  • Manage complex, high-volume, and politically sensitive correspondence and casework.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience providing executive-level support within a politically sensitive or high-profile environment.
  • Proven ability to manage complex diaries and communications with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Experience handling sensitive correspondence, Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, and complaints
  • Experience handling confidential information in line with GDPR and data protection policies.
  • Advanced IT and digital literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office and data management systems.
