Senior Employment Relations Business Partner

The People Team is building a world-class experience for Algolians—centered on trust, clarity, and compliance. As we scale globally, we’re growing our People Partnering team with a specialist who brings deep expertise in French labor law, CSE management, and employee relations.

YOUR ROLE WILL CONSIST OF:

  • Responsible for facilitating CSE meetings and maintaining constructive social dialogue & ensure compliance with local legislation
  • Ensure the preparation, facilitation, and follow-up of meetings with employee representative & internal stakeholders
  • Lead CSE meeting preparation and documentation, ensuring we meet all French governance obligations.
  • Partner closely with external counsel and employee representatives to maintain trust and legal alignment.
  • Advise People Partners and functional leaders on CSE-related implications of organisational or policy changes.

Employee Relations Partnership

  • Partner with People Business Partners on complex or high-risk employee relations cases including managing a case load directly, as needed.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external counsel as needed to manage employee relations cases.
  • Document and build practices to support our employee relations philosophy that can be tailored to meet global and local needs
  • Provide strategic advice and counsel on topics ranging from policy interpretation, internal investigations, performance management, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, & dismissal
  • Provide expertise on the investigation and successful resolution of ER issues and complaints.
  • Assist with the development of investigation plans and lead complex investigations at and above a certain organizational level to minimize legal risk.
  • Develop toolkits, templates, and internal guidance to scale ER consistency across teams.

Compliance & Policy Advising

  • Act as a senior advisor on global employee relations and labor law, bringing subject matter expertise in EMEA (particularly France and the UK), while also supporting compliance matters in APAC and AMER through close collaboration with Legal and regional stakeholders.
  • Partner with People Operations and external counsel to ensure that global policies, handbooks, and people processes remain legally sound, culturally aligned, and regionally compliant across EMEA, APAC, and AMER.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes across all regions, coordinating timely updates and guidance with Legal, Finance, and People Ops to ensure proactive risk mitigation and compliance.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Support the People Ops team with insights on documentation, process improvements, and audits.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Compliance on risk mitigation, investigations, and local implementation of global policies.
  • Participate in global people projects where French or compliance expertise is needed.

YOU MIGHT BE A FIT IF YOU HAVE:

  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience with strong exposure to compliance and employee relations
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in French Labor Law, or a specialized HR program with a focus on labor relations (e.g., Droit social et ressources humaines)
  • Experience managing employee relations issues on a global scale – with a focus on UK and France preferred
  • Demonstrated experience managing compliance in a global environment
  • Expertise in French labor law, including CSE governance and statutory employment practices
  • Ability to influence cross-functional partners and coach HR peers without owning direct execution
  • Translate complex workplace issues into actionable recommendations that balance compliance, employee experience, and business needs
  • Act as a thought partner by connecting people-related risks and opportunities to broader business goals
  • Interest to identify and apply AI tools to streamline ER documentation, policy management, and compliance monitoring.
  • A curiosity and desire to develop new and innovative ways of tackling People programs and practices. You are a problem solver.
  • Preference for candidates with experience at our current stage and beyond (over 10,000 customers, $200M ARR range, lots of change and building internal infrastructure).
  • Exceptional judgment and communication skills in both French and English
  • Experience working in a distributed or remote-first organization
