Their engineering teams are well-supported, with a focus on quality, compliance, and service excellence. Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their team within a high-profile commercial office environment. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be involved in planned and reactive maintenance, with a strong focus on electrical systems alongside general building services duties. The successful Electrical Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the site runs smoothly by addressing issues efficiently and safely. This role would suit a proactive and adaptable Electrical Engineer looking to work within a technically challenging but well-supported environment. Key Responsibilities * Carry out routine electrical maintenance, including the replacement of lamps, ballasts, fuses, and components. * Diagnose and rectify electrical faults related to power outlets, switches, and lighting systems. * Inspect, test, and maintain emergency lighting in accordance with statutory requirements. * Install and maintain low-voltage electrical systems and small power installations, including data points. * Ensure all electrical work complies with current regulations, safety standards, and best practices. General Maintenance * Undertake basic plumbing duties such as leak repairs and blockage clearance. * Carry out light carpentry including door adjustments, furniture repairs, and shelving installation. * Complete minor decorating tasks, including painting and surface preparation. * Respond promptly to maintenance requests, completing work orders within agreed timeframes. * Maintain high standards of housekeeping across work areas and plant rooms. Building Inspections & Energy Monitoring * Perform routine building inspections, proactively identifying and reporting defects or issues. * Monitor utility usage and contribute to implementing energy-saving initiatives. * Administrative & Coordination Tasks * Keep accurate maintenance records, including logs, service reports, and stock levels. * Support procurement of parts and materials to ensure job readiness. * Liaise with external contractors and service providers to coordinate specialist works. Qualifications & Essential Skills * Recognised electrical qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent). * Demonstrable experience working as an Electrical Engineer in a building services or facilities maintenance role. * Sound knowledge of building systems and statutory compliance requirements. * Competent in general maintenance practices, including basic plumbing, carpentry, and decorating. * Strong fault-finding skills with the ability to work independently and take initiative. * Effective communicator with a professional attitude and customer-focused approach. * Capable of supporting and guiding junior team members where required
