We’re seeking a Vice President of Employee Relations to join the Human Capital team at a leading asset management firm in Boston. This role manages complex employee relations issues, ensuring risk mitigation, engagement, and compliance. Partnering with global HR, Legal, and Compliance teams, this leader will advise on best practices, resolve conflicts, interpret policies, and conduct internal investigations.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the subject matter expert on employee relations, managing escalated and complex matters with consistency, compliance, and fairness.
- Lead internal investigations into employee complaints, grievances, and policy violations.
- Partner with legal counsel to ensure compliance with global employment laws and regulations.
- Advise managers on performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
- Oversee performance improvement plans, accommodations, and leave requests in collaboration with the Benefits team.
- Facilitate training for HR, managers, and employees on employee relations best practices.
- Ensure ongoing awareness of legal, regulatory, and policy requirements impacting employee matters.
- Drive initiatives, policies, and programs that promote a positive, productive, and strategically aligned workplace.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of employee relations, human capital, or legal experience, ideally in financial services or private equity.
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred.
- Deep knowledge of HR policies, employment laws, and compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to handle complex, sensitive matters with discretion, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building abilities.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and effective in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
