Our client is a leading specialist in delivering high-quality building services across a wide range of sectors, including commercial, leisure, research, and education. Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our clients dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering full electrical design services from RIBA Stage 3 to Stage 5, ensuring all work meets the highest technical, safety, and quality standards. You will have the expertise to lead detailed electrical and ancillary system designs across multiple project sectors and take ownership of the design process through to completion. This is a client-facing role that requires both technical proficiency and excellent communication skills. Key Responsibilities Undertake and manage the full electrical design process from Stage 3 (Developed Design) through Stage 5 (Construction). Produce detailed design calculations, specifications, and drawings for all electrical and ancillary systems. Liaise with architects, contractors, and clients to ensure project requirements are met. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into building designs. Review, check, and approve design documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff. Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and health & safety requirements. Attend site meetings, design workshops, and project reviews as required.Skills & Experience Required Proven experience as a Senior Electrical Design Engineer in the commercial, leisure, research, and education sectors. In-depth knowledge of building services engineering principles and best practices. Strong understanding of applicable regulations, standards, and codes of practice. Ability to manage the full design process and take responsibility for technical outcomes. Proficient in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech). Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
