Our client is a market-leading grower and supplier of top-tier salads and fresh produce. With outstanding UK production, carefully selected European imports, and partnerships with regional growers, they are a trusted name in quality, consistency, and innovation.
From field to shelf, their state-of-the-art Essex facility handles everything—inspection, packing, labelling, and onward distribution to major UK supermarkets. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a determined, confident, and experienced Production Manager to lead this key site and help shape the next phase of their success story.
The Role:
As General Manager , you will take full responsibility for managing the daily operations of the packhouse, ensuring that products are processed to the highest quality, food safety, and ethical standards. You will lead a large, diverse team, drive continuous improvement, and work cross-functionally to maintain efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of production, including quality, safety, throughput, and staffing
- Lead, develop and inspire a multi-skilled operational team
- Ensure compliance with food safety, ethical trading, and retailer standards
- Collaborate with supply chain, technical, and commercial teams to meet demand
