Are you looking a Practice Nurse looking for an exciting new opportunity?
Southglade Medical Practice are looking for a Lead Practice Nurse for 30 hours per week.
Main Responsibilities
Key duties will include:
To work closely with the practice team, Practice Manager and Clinical Lead GP as well as the Regional Nurse, Clinical and Operational leads to ensure all targets are met in line with current guidelines and standards within national service frameworks.
To act within your professional boundaries to provide care for the presenting patients from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care. You will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, for patients within the general practice. You will demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process. You will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures, and providing nurse leadership as required. In order to work at this level NMC requirement for advanced practice must be met.
In addition to the responsibilities above, the post holder will work with the Regional Lead Nurse to ensure a high level of quality and standards at all times. Yo will be involved with the implementation and monitoring of all clinical aspects by demonstrating clinical excellence in conjunction with the Clinical Lead GP and assist with the implementation of any nursing / ACHP redesign and quality strategies to ensure a high quality nursing / AHCP team.
The Ideal Candidate
Interested? What you will need to be considered:
First Level UK registered nurse / Registered AHCP with at least 2 years post qualified experience.
Non-medical Prescriber.
Demonstrates sound evidence of academic links.
Extensive clinical experience in Primary Care Health settings and managing nursing teams.
Understanding of the Lead Role.
In addition, you must be competent in the following skill areas:
Cytology
Long-term condition reviews (inc. asthma, COPD, diabetes)
Blood pressure reviews
ECGs
Pill checks
Dressings and stitches & clip removal
Immunisations (inc. babies and children, travel, flu, pneumonia, shingles, RSV)
Injections (inc. B12, contraception, Zoladex, Prostap, testosterone)
NHS health checks
Swabs
It would be very desirable if the applicant can do spirometry or willing to obtain this skill.

Annual salary of up to £48,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
27 days annual leave plus bank holidays pro rata.
