Are you looking for a more relaxed, structured clinical life? If so, Bishop Hendry & Edwards may have just the role for you! We’re looking for a great vet to join our wonderful, village based practice on a permanent basis. We can offer a well-balanced caseload between surgery & medicine, but if you’d prefer, we can offer you a consult only role. We’re offering a welcome bonus of up to £5000 (pro rata), as well as relocation support of up to £5000 for those that require it. Sponsorship for international candidate can also be explored.

At our practice, we offer you the opportunity and clinical freedom to work up your own cases, with the support of our experienced team at all times. Our fantastic management team are on hand to take cover of all of the business needs, so that you can focus on what you do best – being a vet. We’ve been proud to serve our local community for years, which has allowed us to build up a wonderful, loyal client base.
About the Team
One of our greatest strengths is our close-knit team of RVNs, receptionists and leadership, which includes a Practice Manager and Practice Director. Most of our team have been with us for years! Both our Practice Director and Practice Manager have come from an ex-clinical background, so they understand the challenges that all clinical staff face. We also have a compliment of regular locums that work alongside our permanent staff.

Work life balance that works for you
We are a flexible practice that strives to find the best work life balance for you, therefore, we are open to applicants wishing to take on any number of hours work. Our existing full time rota consists of working a 40 hour week across four-days, along with a shared Saturday rota. No bank holidays, Sunday working or out-of-hours requirement.
Our Practice
We have a great case load exposing you from the most routine of cases whilst also giving you the opportunity to work more complex cases up in our well-equipped, fully refurbished practice. Our practice has all the usual toys you should expect including digital x-ray, ultrasound, extensive lab suite & dental. We have dedicated theatre, imaging, and dental suites with separate patient wards. We are proud to be RCVS accredited and to have been awarded Cat Friendly Clinic.
Ideal location
We are based in the lovely market town of Newport, Shropshire, in the heart of plentiful countryside and only a short drive from Telford, Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton. So many beautiful walks on our doorstop and lots of quirky bars and restaurants all within walking distance of the practice.
