You are a proactive collaborator, equally comfortable working independently or as part of a team to ensure accuracy and consistency in all documentation.

Your Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience as a Technical Author in a technical or telecare-related industry, ideally with experience in product-focused companies.

• Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to produce concise, accurate, and engaging content.

• Proficiency in industry-standard authoring tools (e.g., MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, Confluence).

• Experience with multimedia content creation and documentation design (graphics, videos, etc.) is a plus.

• Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable.

• Strong organisational skills with experience in managing multiple projects and documentation versions.

THE ROLE

At the Appello Group, we’re revolutionising the telecare industry with innovative products designed to support the safety, health, and well-being of vulnerable individuals. Our technology is built in-house and serves a vital purpose: empowering loved ones and users with intuitive, reliable solutions. With a commitment to excellence, we strive to make every user’s experience seamless and every loved one peace of mind. As we continue to grow and expand our product range, we’re looking for an experienced Technical Author to join our team and bring clarity and precision to our technical documentation.

As our Technical Author, you will be instrumental in creating high-quality, user-friendly technical documentation for our telecare products, ensuring that both technical and non-technical audiences can easily understand and utilise our solutions. You will work closely with our dev, product, and customer service teams to translate complex technical information into clear, concise documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for a range of telecare products, including user manuals, setup guides, release notes, and API documentation.

• Collaborate with product development teams to understand product functionalities and translate technical information into accessible language.

• Ensure documentation meets industry standards and regulatory requirements, focusing on accuracy, readability, and completeness.

• Continuously review and improve existing documentation based on product updates, customer feedback, and evolving industry best practices.

• Create multimedia content (e.g., graphics, diagrams, video tutorials) to enhance the clarity and usability of technical resources.

• Organise and structure documentation repositories for easy access and version control.
