Job Title: Quality Technician (PQC) – Days – 4.5 Day Week

Salary: £27,855 rising to £ £29,279 when role objectives are reached / H19/N19

Contract: Full time & permanent

Working Hours: Monday–Thursday: 6:30am–3:30pm & Friday: 6:30am–10:00am – we support coverage across the full factory roster, so flexibility is key!

Location: Desford, Leicestershire

The Opportunity:

As a Quality Technician as a Product Quality Controller (PQC), you’ll help ensure every machine leaving our Desford facility meets our high standards. You’ll audit parts and machines, fully or partially built, working to a set inspection rhythm that aligns with the pace of production, following clear inspection standard work. Our team supports the entire factory roster, so flexibility is essential. We adapt to production needs and step in across shifts to keep quality and operations running smoothly.

What you will do:

As a Quality Technician, you are accountable for, but not limited to:

  • Conduct audits on parts and partially or fully built machines following inspection standard work and/or inspection best practice

  • Record defect information in detail via electronic, manual processes or visual boards.

  • Investigate, analyse and identify Root Cause, and operate the NCM (Non-Confirming Material) process.

  • Conduct Basic visual and dimensional inspection as part of investigations.

  • Rework parts and machines as required.

  • Must be willing to work a multi-shift pattern.

  • Quality Operations: Communicates across departments and teams, to ensure a smooth workflow. Proactively reviews reject areas to ensure targets are achieved.

  • Quality Knowledge: Read and interpret engineering drawings and quality standards. Able to inspect parts or machines to determine conformity. #

  • Safety: Proactive in managing safety standards and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Foster psychological safety and team engagement, ensuring open communication and collaboration across diverse groups.

  • Process Improvement: Evaluates production methods and maintains focus, with team input, on promoting the continuous improvement of processes and products utilising lean, Six Sigma and drive innovation.

  • Prioritisation: Self-motivated and able to proactively manage multiple priorities.

  • Must be willing to work a multi-shift pattern.

What You May Have:

  • Previous Material Requirements Planning System (Glovia) Experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of reading engineering drawings.

  • Skilled at using dimensional inspection tools.
