Job Description:
Social Worker working in the Team you will:
- Undertake assessments with children with disabilities, young people, and their families/carers.
- Empower children, young people, and their families/carers by listening to their views.
- Plan services to meet their needs and ensure actions are taken to implement plans.
- Advocate for children with disabilities to obtain benefits, services, and support.
- Use available resources effectively to respond to their needs.
- Provide written reports in various formats as required.
- Fulfill statutory and legislative requirements for children and young people receiving services.
- Promote cultural needs and challenge discrimination and racism, working within Sandwell Children\’s Trust ethos and values, and promoting Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) strategies.
- Carry out duties in line with the Trust\’s equality policy, acting sensitively and promoting a positive, harmonious working environment. Act as an exemplar on these issues and monitor training needs.
- Build positive relationships with children from Short Breaks, providing immediate responses to risk situations.
- Ensure direct work with children prioritizes their voice and promotes the use of sensory tools.
Requirements for success:
- Experience working within children and family services.

- Ability to prioritize, analyze information, and make informed decisions.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting demands.
