Job Description: We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry to join our outpatient services team. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will lead the provision of expert psychiatric care to children and adolescents within outpatient settings. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of young people and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing expert clinical leadership and psychiatric expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children and adolescents with mental health difficulties within outpatient services.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure integrated and holistic care for patients.
- Conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments and formulating individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practice and clinical guidelines.
- Providing supervision, training, and mentorship to junior medical staff, including Specialty Doctors, Registrars, and Core Trainees.
- Participating in clinical governance activities, service development initiatives, and research projects to enhance the quality of care provided.
Requirements:
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a license to practice in the UK.
- Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych or FRCPsych) or equivalent qualification.
- Substantial experience working as a Consultant Psychiatrist specializing in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry within outpatient settings.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with children, adolescents, and their families in a sensitive and supportive manner.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and keeping abreast of developments in child and adolescent mental health.
