About the Role:
We are looking for two enthusiastic and skilled Assistant Information Systems Administrators to join our Health Information Systems team within the IM&T department at NHS Borders. These roles are essential in supporting our critical Patient Administration Systems, ensuring consistent access to clinical and management data that underpin high-quality patient care.
Working within a Business as Usual (BAU) environment, you’ll provide day-to-day support for key systems including TrakCare Patient Management System, EMIS Web, SCI Store/Gateway, and WardView. Your input will be vital to maintaining system reliability and enhancing the experience for both clinical staff and patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain core Patient Administration Systems daily
- Respond to incidents and service queries via TopDesk
- Assist with user accounts and maintenance, analysis, and implementation of low level updates.
- Support the team in the delivery of improvements for both new and existing e-health systems
- Work collaboratively stakeholders to ensure that systems meet the service needs
Requirements
- Experience with the backend administration of systems such as TrakCare and/or EMIS Web is desirable but not essential — preferably within the NHS or a similar healthcare setting
- Proven day-to-day familiarity with Patient Administration Systems is desirable.
- Problem-solving abilities with a commitment to producing high-quality outcomes
- Confidence navigating change and adapting systems to maintain performance and availability
