Location: East Midlands
Purpose of RoleWe are working with a well-established insurance business to recruit a Broking Team Leader for their Schemes Team. This role will lead and support a team of Brokers, ensuring service excellence, compliance, and operational efficiency. You will manage day-to-day operations, mentor staff, and drive performance in line with business objectives.
Responsibilities
Manage daily team operations, meeting service levels and compliance requirements
Act as an escalation point for complex queries and provide clear guidance
Oversee broking activities including renewals, MTAs, new business, and client servicing
Collaborate with underwriting, compliance, claims, and finance teams
Align team goals with wider business objectives and support strategic plans
Monitor performance and implement process improvements
Day‐to‐Day
Lead delivery of scheme solutions for clients from sole traders to large commercial accounts
Coach and mentor team members to drive growth and accountability
Maintain FCA compliance and promote regulatory awareness
Review and streamline processes for efficiency
Travel between two offices will be required
Experience
Experience with insurance broking platforms or CRM systems
Proven background in a broking or insurance environment
Previous supervisory or leadership experience
Strong knowledge of FCA regulations and insurance principles
Ability to manage workloads, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
Professional qualifications such as Cert CII (or working towards) advantageous
Experience across both personal and commercial lines
Skills
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Proficient in broking systems and Microsoft Office
