Title: Project Engineer\\nLocation: Liverpool (L11)\\nSalary: Competitive\\nShifts: 09:00 – 17:30 (Any 5 out of 7)\\nContract Type: Permanent\\n\\nOur client, a leading discount retailer, is seeking a Project Engineer to join their expanding business on a permanent basis, working across multiple sites in the UK.\\n\\nReporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will support the delivery of engineering, automation, and innovation projects by managing day-to-day technical activities, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met.\\n\\nKey Responsibilities\\n\\n * \\n\\n Project Management – Deliver projects across automation, engineering, facilities, innovation, and other workstreams from initial planning to completion.\\n\\n * \\n\\n Full Project Lifecycle Oversight – Manage conceptualisation, planning, execution, and post-implementation stages, ensuring all success criteria are achieved.\\n\\n * \\n\\n Risk & Issue Management – Identify risks and issues, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure minimal disruption to timelines and quality.\\n\\n * \\n\\n Resource & Cost Management – Track resources, control costs, and maintain timelines to meet key milestones.\\n\\n * \\n\\n Cost Estimation & Technical Analysis – Produce cost estimates, prepare management presentations, and conduct technical studies to inform decisions.\\n\\n * \\n\\n Problem-Solving & Continuous Improvement – Lead root cause analysis, develop solutions, and enhance project management processes.\\n\\n * \\n\\n Product Performance Testing – Design and conduct product performance tests to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.\\n\\nSkills & Experience Required\\n\\n * \\n\\n Degree in Engineering or a related field.\\n\\n * \\n\\n Proven experience in a fast-paced, commercially focused environment with diverse stakeholders—preferably in retail, warehousing, intralogistics, or FMCG.\\n\\n * \\n\\n Track record of leading and delivering projects, including commissioning and testing.\\n\\n * \\n\\n Project management experience in facilities, infrastructure, energy, and power projects.\\n\\n * \\n\\n Strong technical expertise in automation and engineering design.\\n\\n * \\n\\n Proficient in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).\\n\\n * \\n\\n Skilled in design and visualisation software such as AutoCAD.\\n\\nAdditional Information:\\n\\n * \\n\\n Some UK travel will be required.\\n\\n * \\n\\n A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential
