What you will be doing
Your scheme will begin with 1 day per week at College for the first Academic Year, with placements conducted on site for the remainder of the week. The rest of your qualifications will be delivered remotely over 21 months.
During your placements, you will be working on-site at our Wing Manufacturing Centre of Excellence and will collaborate with a range of teams. Disciplines include:
- Facilities Services, including Planned and Reactive Maintenance
- Sustainability
- Minor Works Projects
- Health and Safety
The activities you will undertake include:
- Facilities Services: Support daily site issues, ensure robustness of planned maintenance, work with external service providers, review infrastructure to develop solutions, evaluate external workmanship, develop projects to improve reliability and sustainability, identify opportunities with Energy and Asset Management teams.
- Minor Works Projects: Develop infrastructure specifications, evaluate technical proposals to align with asset strategy, assess energy and maintenance requirements.
- Health and Safety: Understand health and safety responsibilities, learn legislative requirements, conduct audits for compliance.
Requirements
Eligibility for the apprenticeship requires:
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including Maths, English Language and Science
Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate:
- Submit your CV with grades and whether they are predicted or achieved
- Submit a Cover Letter highlighting your passion and suitability for this apprenticeship
Qualifications and Progression
Qualification: EAL Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations and EAL Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations, and Facilities Management – Facilities management supervisor Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard
Standard: ST0537 Engineering Operative Level 2 progressing to ST0170 Facilities Management Supervisor Level 3
