You will support Londoners at risk of fuel poverty, helping them reduce their energy costs and make a real difference—all while leading a team. This role involves making 2–3 visits per day in London, mostly in West / North West London.

A typical visit will involve:

  • Assessing a resident’s energy needs and exploring ways to lower their bills, such as energy-saving advice, like supporting people with switching suppliers or suggesting energy-efficient times to use power.
  • Practical support, including installing energy-saving light bulbs or simple draught-proofing (you’ll receive training for these easy-to-implement solutions).
  • Accessing grants or bill support, such as applying for grants for white goods or cavity wall installations or helping with bill write-offs.

You’ll manage a small team, dedicating one day a week to shadow team members on their visits and having them shadow you, ensuring best practices are followed.

To apply for this role, the charity welcomes candidates from diverse backgrounds. Ideally, you’ll have experience in energy advice and some management or supervisory experience. However, if you have experience working with vulnerable clients, visiting people in their homes, and some supervisory experience, this could be an excellent fit.

The role is Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week, typically 9 am to 5:30 pm, with core hours from 10 am to 3 pm, allowing flexibility if you need it. A driving licence is essential, as a company car will be provided for work use. You’ll report to the central London office once a month, but otherwise, you’ll spend most of the day on visits.

Please apply via this advert—we aim to respond to everyone. If you don’t receive feedback within 72 hours, feel free to reach out using the ‘Contact Us’ form on the Red 5 People website. You’re also welcome to call the office and ask for James for direct assistance (contact details are available on the Red 5 People website).
