Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Barton-upon-Humber
Pay Rate: £88.94 £114.84 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are currently seeking experienced and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Barton-upon-Humber. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students learning and development while making a positive impact on their educational journey.

As a SEN TA, you will provide tailored support to help students overcome barriers to learning, ensuring they can fully participate in classroom activities.

Responsibilities as a SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEN, including those with physical, emotional, or learning difficulties.
  • Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management.
  • Adapt teaching materials and resources to meet the needs of individual students.
  • Help students develop social and emotional skills to engage successfully with their peers.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents where appropriate.
  • Support students with personal care, if necessary, following school guidelines and policies.

Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs in an educational or care setting is desirable.
  • A caring, patient, and flexible approach to supporting students.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A valid enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
  • A full, up-to-date CV with clear employment history and explanations for any gaps within the last 10 years.
