This is a full-time, entry-level position within the Consumer Goods industry, based in the UK, focusing on packaging operations.

Primary purpose and function of the position:

To undertake daily, weekly, and monthly activities to meet KPI requirements for cost, quality, service, and behaviors through agreed ways of working.

Main Characteristics:

  • Consistent execution of routine tasks (daily/weekly/monthly)

Scope:

From start to end of Packaging Operations, including raw materials and final packaged product.

Key Contacts:

Departmental Manager, First Line Managers, Process Engineers, Multi Operators, Local union representatives, Occupational Health Advisor.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Comply with statutory, legal, safety, health, environment, and hygiene requirements (e.g., HACCP)
  • Ensure product and process quality
  • Maintain housekeeping, cleaning, and 5S standards
  • Operate packaging equipment to deliver quality products on time and within cost targets
  • Participate in improvement activities to meet KPI targets
  • Undertake training for new skills and tasks
  • Perform packaging-related tasks as directed
  • Attend meetings and ensure documentation accuracy
  • Meet all internal customer requirements

Key Skills, Knowledge & Competencies:

Education: English & Mathematics Standard Grades or equivalent; engineering qualification preferred.

Experience: Packaging with some engineering experience, autonomous maintenance advantageous. FLT license where appropriate.
