Job Description

Financial Controller | South Kent | C.£60k

Cobb & Jones are working with a successful business who have recently been acquired by a larger business in the Construction industry. This is a newly created role and a great opportunity that will support the Managing Director of this business, report to the Group Head of Finance and work closely with the finance team in the wider Group.

The purpose of the role is to oversee all aspects of the financial control, reporting and forecasting for the division. Lead the divisional finance team and support the local management team in making key decisions that will shape the overall divisional strategy.

Key responsibilities:

Provide support and challenge to the Estimating & Commercial teams around strategy & financial reporting implications for all new business tenders
Work with Group Finance to drive best practice
Support the local management team in implementing and maintaining medium term targets, including ownership of the Divisional 3 year forecast, budget and relevant KPIs
Oversee the financial and management reporting process for the Division
Oversee the review and strengthening of financial reporting and control processes across the Division
Responsibility for development and succession planning within the Divisional Finance team
Take a leading role to enhance and develop policies, processes and systems
Act as a key Business Partner to senior stakeholders within the Division
Present updates at the Monthly Business Reviews and other meetings as the central finance representative

You will be a fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with experience in leading, managing and mentoring a team. You will also have strong budgeting, forecasting experience and have a strong technical accounting acumen. Experience in the construction sector desirable but not essential.
