A dynamic and rapidly expanding Lloyd’s syndicate is partnering with us to find an ambitious and entrepreneurial pricing actuary ready to step into their first “Head of” role.
This is a rare opportunity for a high-potential individual to build a pricing function from the ground up, within a business that has scaled from 2 to 14 underwriting teams in just six years — with further growth on the horizon. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing pricing models, frameworks, and bespoke analyses for complex and unusual risks, helping shape the syndicate’s strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities:
- Build and lead the pricing function across a multi-class portfolio.
- Develop technical pricing models and support underwriting teams with case-level analysis.
- Establish governance, documentation, and validation processes for pricing methodologies.
- Collaborate with actuarial, exposure management, reinsurance, claims, and finance teams.
- Influence underwriting strategy and contribute to business planning and capital modelling.
- Represent pricing in senior meetings and strategic initiatives.
Candidate Profile:
- Qualified actuary or equivalent quantitative background.
- Strong technical pricing experience in the Lloyd’s or London Market.
- Proven ability to develop pricing tools across multiple lines of business.
- Excellent communication skills with a commercial mindset.
- Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with R, VBA, Access or similar tools is a plus.
- A self-starter with the drive to build something meaningful and lasting.
What’s on Offer:
- A platform to lead and shape pricing strategy in a high-growth environment.
- Direct exposure to senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
- A collaborative, fast-paced culture that rewards initiative and innovation.
- Competitive salary + Bonus + Benefits .
- Hybrid Working – circa 3 days in per week
