Our client, a leading material handling equipment supplier, is seeking an analytical and critical thinker to join their team in Peterborough as an Assistant Finance Manager.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you’ll be responsible for support the accounting function by assisting with financial administration, reporting, and compliance to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

As Assistant Finance Manager, your key tasks include:

  • Process supplier payments, employee expenses, and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Perform bank and account reconciliations, including VAT returns and balance sheet items.
  • Assist in month-end reporting, financial statement preparation, and KPI calculations.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as filing, correspondence, and supporting audits and stock takes.
  • Communicate with suppliers, customers, and stakeholders to resolve finance-related queries and ensure compliance.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • 2–5 years of accounting experience, including intercompany reconciliations and month-end processes.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence using the wider Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High attention to detail with a methodical, accurate approach to financial tasks.
