Prospero Teaching are partnered with Local Councils and SEND teams throughout the UK. We provide educational support to individuals who are currently out of mainstream education, those seeking additional support and individuals with SEND.

We are currently looking for a qualified and experienced 1:1 Tutor to provide core subject support to students who are not currently accessing mainstream education, from EYFS to KS5.

Due to the nature of the students we provide support to, it would beneficial if applicants have a background and strong understanding of SEN.

Position Details

  • Location: Various locations across Barnsley
  • Position: 1:1 Tutor
  • Type of work: Contract
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Duration / Likely Duration: Dependent on each student
  • End date: Ongoing
  • Contract type: Temporary
  • Full time/part time: Part time and full-time depending on availability
  • Minimum rate of pay: Minimum rate GBP25 per hour
  • Hours: Working hours can differentiate, minimum 1 hour per session and a maximum of 3 hours per session

Experience, Training and Qualifications

  • QTS or equivalent
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential)
  • UK classroom teaching experience
  • Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
  • SEN experience

To be eligible for this role, you must:

  • Hold the right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child-related references.
