A bit about the job
We\’re growing our Income Protection Claims Team and looking for new Claims Assessors (known as Claims Case Managers at Aviva) to join us.
You’ll manage a portfolio of claims cases, working closely with internal and external partners to support both employers and employees. By assessing claims, arranging treatment, and providing telephony support, you will help to get the best outcome for the customer.
You’ll support customers during difficult times‑whether they’re off work, returning, or facing long‑term absence. This role involves helping people through treatment, financial stress, or life‑changing events so you’ll need to support individuals with empathy and clarity.
You’ll be part of a collaborative team that uses a mix of rehabilitation, motivational interviewing, and relationship management to get the best outcomes.
100% office attendance will be required for a minimum of 6 months and then potential of some home working dependent on progression in line with Step progression framework.
Skills and experience we’re looking for
- Confident on the phone and able to communicate clearly with a range of people.
- Strong decision‑making skills-you can explain your reasoning and negotiate effectively.
- Great at planning, organising, and managing your time.
- Resilient, adaptable, and keen to keep learning.
- Experience in insurance or income protection is a bonus, but not essential.

- Starting salary circa £27000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
- Bonus opportunity- 6% of annual salary. Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
