About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced and hands-on Press Team Leader to join a busy printing operation. You’ll report to the Press Shift Manager and take responsibility for organising and supervising staff to ensure smooth press operations, meeting production schedules and maintaining exceptional quality standards.
In this role, you’ll also deputise for the Press Shift Manager when required, overseeing press, mailroom, and platemaking operations. You’ll play a key part in fostering positive teamwork between shifts, maintaining production efficiency, and ensuring effective handovers. You will have 5 printers reporting into you.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise press operations during shift, ensuring print quality and production targets are met.
Deputise for the Press Shift Manager, covering press, mailroom, and platemaking.
Communicate effectively between shifts, supporting operational improvements.
Oversee press set-up, web-up, plate fitting, and quality control (inking density, registration, etc).
Operate or re-output plates via the Agfa Arkitex Production workflow system as required.
Support staff training, skills development, and positive team culture.
Monitor staffing levels and advise on holiday/absence cover.
Follow company procedures for return-to-work and disciplinary processes when required.
About You
Experience in Man Roland, web offset or lithographic printing
or extensive machine operator experience with the capability to step into a team leader role.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
Excellent organisational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Flexible and team-focused with good communication skills.
