Are you an experienced Learning Support Assistant with a strong background in Braille?
Veritas Education is currently recruiting on behalf of a mainstream secondary school in Eastbourne, seeking a dedicated and skilled Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support a partially sighted Year 7 pupil on a 1:1 basis.

This is a full-time, long-term opportunity starting in September, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

Providing tailored 1:1 support to a partially sighted student, ensuring full access to the curriculum.

Translating classwork and resources into Braille and supporting the pupil with reading and writing using Braille.

Collaborating with teaching staff, SENCO, and external specialists to support the pupil\’s academic and personal development.

Creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes confidence and independence.

Requirements:

Proven experience working with Braille – this is essential.
(Candidates without Braille experience will not be considered for this role.)

Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar educational support role.

A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting students with additional needs.

Excellent communication and organisational skills.
