Desktop Support Engineer
6 Month contract initially
Based: Bridgewater, Somerset
Rate: £200 – £250 p/d (via Umbrella company)

We have a great opportunity with a world-leading organisation where you will be provided with support and development to succeed. This role involves ensuring the smooth operation of organisation computer systems by providing technical assistance to end-users. The primary goal is to diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. You will also be involved in the implementation and maintenance of IT infrastructure to meet operational and project needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to networks, applications, software, hardware, VPNs, printers, and mobile phones.
  2. Managing incident queues and recording incident tickets.
  3. Handling calls with customers, VIP user management, and vendor management.
  4. Responding to reactive or proactive incidents in a timely manner.
  5. Monitoring phones, emails, and Microsoft Teams chat for incidents.
  6. Managing Windows 10 devices (Microsoft Managed Devices).
  7. Technical troubleshooting and resolution of issues in Windows 10 operating system.
  8. Managing antivirus solutions (Defender/McAfee).
  9. Device movement and deployment, including unpacking, repackaging, and shipping label creation.
  10. Creating technical project documentation, reports, and manuals.
  11. Building and deploying workstations with standard images.
  12. Providing support at the Tech-Bar for user queries and technical resolutions.
  13. Managing hardware assets and IT asset disposal.
  14. Handling IT desk moves, patching, meeting room setup, and loan laptop management.
  15. Supporting printers, including consumable replacement.
  16. Managing Active Directory groups, account unlocks, and password resets.
  17. Supporting network devices, configuring iPhones/iPads, and managing Azure AD accounts.
  18. Supporting Microsoft Teams and SharePoint applications.
  19. Supporting conference room devices and managing cloud printing.
  20. Supporting Microsoft Managed Desktop environments and understanding virtualization and Intune administration.
  21. Knowledge of ITIL processes and certifications.
