Role Overview
We are seeking a dependable and organized Materials & Inventory Coordinator to manage stock control, material distribution, and the efficient operation of the stores function. This hands-on role supports both workshop and on-site operations, ensuring materials are available to meet project demands.
Main Duties
- Accept, check, and record all deliveries; maintain accurate stock records
- Ensure correct storage, labeling, and organization of materials
- Allocate items to active projects and notify relevant teams upon receipt
- Prepare outgoing goods and arrange transport as needed
- Maintain a clean and orderly workshop and yard environment
- Operate forklift equipment for loading/unloading (training provided if needed)
- Liaise with suppliers regarding collections, deliveries, and schedules
- Support the implementation of lean stock control systems, including Kanban methods
- Adhere to all health, safety, and quality standards at all times
Essential Criteria
- Experience in a stores, warehouse, or materials handling role
- Strong organizational skills and effective communication abilities
- Valid forklift license (or willingness to undergo training)
- IT literacy with experience using inventory software and Microsoft Office
- Full UK driving license
- Familiarity with engineering or construction materials is advantageous
