Position Overview
We are seeking a Project Technician for the Specialist Projects Team at Yorkshire Water. In this role you will provide design and build project services, managing small projects from conception to hand‑over.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver cost‑engineered solutions in response to business risk, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
- Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, acting as named person for Principal Contractor on behalf of Yorkshire Water.
- Provide design and build project services to manage specific small to large‑scale projects within the Specialist Projects portfolio.
- Drive excellent standards and performance in health and safety, risk management and control of work.
- Manage project execution to align with all health, safety, environmental and engineering standards.
- Work as part of the team to deliver excellent performance and support the team’s wider objectives.
Skills & Qualifications
- Electrical, ICA or mechanical based apprenticeship or engineering degree, or equivalent.
- ONC/HNC/BTEC in Electrical, ICA or mechanical Engineering.
- Understanding of the principles of control of works – permits, POWRA, RAMS, etc.
- Good understanding of the design and project delivery process including hazard identification, risk assessment and site supervision.
- Ability to highlight technical issues and support resolution.
- Ability to manage and prioritise workload while maintaining effective operational relationships.
- Current valid driving licence and flexibility to travel across the Yorkshire region.
