YARD OPERATIVE required for our client based in Ballymena. This role is for 24hrs per weeks (Mon-Frid) hours flexible Ongoing Temporary Job Summary: As Yards Person you will be responsible for ensuring the yard and stores are kept clean and tidy. You will liaise with on-site teams and lorry drivers to ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained. You will receive deliveries, ensure stock levels are kept up to date and stored accurately. You will report to the Plant & Procurement manager, supporting them with fleet and equipment maintenance both going out and returning from site. Main Duties & Responsibilities: The following list outlines the key tasks and duties of your role: Manage and organise the yard and stores, ensuring all areas are kept clean and tidy at all times. Take receipt of deliveries to the yard, assisting with the resolution of delivery and collection issues promptly. Assist with loading and unloading supplies to/from lorries. Ensure supplies are stored correctly and carry out regular stock takes to ensure levels are accounted for and sufficiently maintained. Ensure good housekeeping rules are adhered to by the wider team. Manage the return of equipment from site, ensure any required maintenance is completed before returning to stock. Provide a reactive response to breakdowns and damage repairs to limit lost time on site. Assist with fleet and equipment maintenance; check the status of maintenance and repair work. Deliver/collect goods as required using company vehicles. Ensure plant and purchasing records are kept up to date. Essential Criteria: Full Clean Driving Licence Previous experience working in construction. Knowledge of construction terminology, working practices, plant and heavy machinery. Ability to work unsupervised, and as part of a team. Ability to take direction. Good time management and organisational skills Good communication skills Great work ethic & attitude.
