EES Solution is looking to recruit a Battery Test Automation Engineer to support the development and design verification of High Voltage (HV) Traction Battery Systems for a prestigious automotive client. This role is pivotal in delivering automation tools and solutions to ensure efficient and safe battery testing across internal test facilities and external test houses.
You will provide front-line diagnostic support for test automation tools, help drive tool development, and serve as a technical advisor to both internal teams and external partners. This is a high-impact role supporting advanced EV technologies at the heart of vehicle electrification.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, manage, and maintain automation tools used in HV battery testing environments.
* Provide first-line troubleshooting and diagnostic support for test automation tools across multiple facilities.
* Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and standards related to HV testing environments.
* Collaborate with internal engineering teams, facility operators, suppliers, and external partners.
* Deliver analysis and resolution of technical issues to maximise uptime and testing efficiency.
* Guide users and stakeholders in best practices for automation tools usage and future capability planning.
* Conduct thorough analysis of system-level data and provide actionable insights to engineering teams.
* Support documentation, reporting, and continuous improvement efforts in testing environments.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Proficiency in programming languages such as CAPL, Python, and C++.
* Deep understanding of automotive communication protocols including CAN, FlexRay, LIN, Ethernet.
* Hands-on experience with tools such as Vector CANoe, CANalyzer, INCA, VehicleSpy.
* Strong knowledge of HV Battery Systems, charging technology, and test facility operations.
* Experience with data acquisition and analysis platforms including AVL Concerto, Tableau, Minitab.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation and electrical schematics.
* Proven skills in diagnosing and resolving issues in high-pressure, technical test environments.
* Solid understanding of Health & Safety regulations, including Risk Assessment, COSHH, and SDS.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to produce plans, SPLs, and technical reports.
* Holds a full UK driving license with fewer than 6 points and no disqualifications.
Education & Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related technical field
