Job Description

SEN Teacher – Brand New SEND School (Retford)

Are you a creative, passionate teacher who believes every child deserves to shine? We’re looking for talented SEN Teachers who can bring learning to life, embrace diversity, and inspire students to think beyond the classroom.

In this role, you’ll not only help students reach their academic potential but also create a safe, inclusive environment where they feel accepted, valued, and empowered to succeed. You’ll play a key role in delivering tailored education and support for children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and a range of other Special Educational Needs.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Designing and delivering an individualised curriculum that sparks curiosity and motivation.
  • Supporting students’ academic and personal growth in a nurturing setting.
  • Working closely with parents, carers, and community partners to meet each learner’s needs.
  • Creating a classroom culture of high expectations, respect, and inclusion.

What we’re looking for:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) / PGCE or equivalent.
  • Degree-level education (or equivalent experience).
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Additional SEND training (desirable).
  • Strong organisational skills and confident behaviour management.
  • Experience teaching Primary and/or Secondary age ranges.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, equality, and inclusion in SEN settings.
  • Excellent communication skills with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to adapt, problem-solve, and inspire through creative teaching.
