Windmill Lodge Care Home isn\’t just another service it\’s a statement. With capacity for 205 residents, it\’s the second-largest care home in the UK, sitting proudly on the coast of Lytham St Annes.

Now, we\’re searching for an exceptional Turnaround Home Manager a clinical and operational leader ready to take ownership of a service with huge potential and guide it toward excellence.

At present, 66 residents call Windmill Lodge home. But with your leadership, vision, and drive, this care village could become one of the sector\’s greatest success stories a community that truly raises the bar for quality, safety, and reputation.

Contract

  • Salary up to £95,000 per annum.
  • Annual KPI-based bonus of 40%. Rewarding occupancy growth, operational excellence, and quality outcomes.
  • £10,000 Welcome Bonus is paid in two instalments (half upon successful completion of probation and half after one year\’s service).
  • Private Medical Insurance.

Your Mission
This is a rare and rewarding opportunity to transform, not just manage. You\’ll restore confidence, rebuild relationships, and create a culture where care, compassion, and compliance coexist at the highest level.

Windmill Lodge currently holds a Requires Improvement CQC rating, with four breaches identified. A follow-up inspection has been completed, and while early feedback suggests the rating will remain at RI, the building blocks are in place it now needs the right leader to take it forward.

You\’ll work closely with the Regional Director and Group Quality Team to deliver measurable, sustainable change clinically, commercially, and culturally.

  • Take full operational leadership for Windmill Lodge, ensuring robust clinical governance and safeguarding at all times.
  • Design and deliver a turnaround strategy that drives regulatory improvement and rebuilds external confidence.
  • Reignite partnerships with local authorities, CCGs, and health professionals, restoring referral pathways and occupancy.
  • Inspire and unite your team cultivating accountability, pride, and shared purpose.
  • Champion marketing and reputation-building initiatives to position the home as the provider of choice in the region.
  • Shape and deliver your vision of a sector-leading care village, bringing innovation and compassion together.
