HSE Advisor – Solar PV & BESS Contract | Competitive Daily Rate UK Wide (Reading & Ipswich Initially) A leading renewable energy developer is looking for a proactive and hands-on Health and Safety Advisor to support safe working practices across large-scale solar PV and BESS construction sites throughout the UK. This role will involve national travel and close collaboration with both office-based and site teams. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly experienced renewables firm with an extensive project pipeline and contribute to some of the UK’s largest clean energy developments. The Role: You will work closely with the Operations Director to ensure that all operational and construction activities are compliant with UK health and safety legislation. Your core responsibilities will include: Conducting regular HSE site audits, inspections, and risk assessments. Supporting incident investigations and ensuring corrective actions are implemented. Delivering guidance and training to internal teams and subcontractors. Maintaining and managing health and safety documentation and systems. Supporting compliance with CDM 2015 by helping to coordinate design risk reviews and safety plans. Assisting in the development of CTMPs, CEMPs, and H&S files. Liaising with project teams, designers, and contractors to mitigate design and construction risks. Key Requirements: NEBOSH General Certificate (required); NEBOSH Construction or APS membership (preferred). Previous experience working on utility-scale solar PV construction sites (essential). Strong working knowledge of CDM 2015 and UK HSE legislation. Excellent communication and organisational skills. Ability to travel nationwide as required. Why Apply?
