Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit 2 x Consumer Markets Policy and Advocacy Managers, with one specialising in Telecoms and the other in Public Sector Services.– working 2/3 days per week for initial 7 month contracts with option to extend on a rate of c.Β£240/day (Inside IR35). These roles will be hybrid working. Responsibilities: – Conducting a desk-based literature review of the evidence regarding services available to consumers in Scotland. – Identifying priority consumer issues in the telecommunications and media sector. – Identifying the key levers, options and opportunities for tackling these issues and developing a suggested programme of future policy and advocacy work programme to advance these matters – Producing a report, of publishable quality, outlining the issues affecting consumers with initial recommendations for action to address these issues – Conducting a desk-based literature review of the evidence regarding consumers and public services in Scotland. – Identifying priority consumer issues in relation to access to public goods and services. – Identifying the key levers, options and opportunities for tackling these issues – Providing suggestions for how the organisation should approach its future work in this space including a suggested programme of future policy and advocacy work to address the issues identified above – Producing a report, of publishable quality, outlining the issues affecting consumers in relation to public services with initial recommendations for action to address these issues – Carry out any other duties as required. Essential Skills: – A track record of leading advocacy and policy work – Experience in conducting desk-based research and producing literature reviews and other evidence-based outputs – Knowledge of regulated sectors in Scotland, with knowledge of the telecommunications and media sector desirable OR knowledge of service user experience of the public sector in Scotland – Comfortable working independently at pace and to tight deadlines – Experience of working with a range of internal and external stakeholders Desirable Skills: – Experience of working in a fast-paced policy and advocacy role If you would like to hear more about this opportunity please get in touch.41bf1e1f-b16b-4260-a40a-17c77a06fd15
