The Electrical Engineering Professional is responsible for designing, developing, modifying and evaluating electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems. General Responsibilities Key participant in creating designs within inter-disciplinary teams to address complex product design and manufacturing challenges Collaborates on feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs Organizes development testing, engineering analysis, qualification testing, production launch Key participant in failure analysis investigations and engineering evaluations Maintains product documentation (drawings and specifications) and lessons including; producing design reports, test reports, operating manuals and test procedures Collaborates with senior engineers/managers to engage with customers in soliciting product specifications requirements, schedule expectations and budget Experience / Qualifications A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience. Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers As a Test Engineer in our EMC & RF Approvals team, you will be responsible for the organisation and execution of EMC Lab activities across all product ranges. This includes maintaining/developing the lab and ensuring tests are carried out and reported to a high standard. Further to this you will be called upon EMC design knowledge to feedback considerations to improve EMC. You will act as customer facing in many instances during test plan development negotiations as well as sharing EMC test results. Other duties include: Act as a point of contact in facilitating Testing: EMC pre-compliance (Emissions, Immunity, ESD) Developing EMC test Plans Negotiating test Report test results Feedback risks Maintain lab equipment and plan downtime Develop lab capabilities of external tests Support Technical Radio Certification Physically archive externally tested parts as well as digitally archive report Interpret customer and regulatory requirements documentation Develop and review EMC Test Plans with customers Liaise with internal and external customers and also with test houses Give feedback on layout/schematic regarding design for EMC considerations Aid in RF approvals when required Essential Criteria Must possess an honours degree in Electrical Engineering Minimum of 2 years in EMC or a similar role Excellent organizational skill and strong ability to work independently Ability to understand and interpret both customer and regulatory requirements Good written and oral communication skills Desirable Criteria Experience with automotive EMC test methods and procedures Additional This role involves some element of foreign travel Foreign Travel We offer a competitive salary and benefits package.
