Tax Director – Private Client or CorporateBirmingham | Hybrid & Flexible Working
This is a rare opportunity for a senior tax leader to step into a Director-level role with the scope, influence, and autonomy to shape the future of a high-performing tax practice. Whether your expertise lies in Private Client (including high-net-worth individuals, IHT, succession planning, and complex personal tax matters) or Corporate Tax (advisory and strategic tax planning for owner-managed businesses and larger corporates), this role offers the platform to make a genuine impact.
As a key member of the senior leadership team, you'll play a central role in setting strategy, driving growth, and developing a talented team. This is not a static role – the business is ambitious, growing, and looking for a Director who can match that ambition. You'll be given the space to innovate, the backing to develop new client relationships, and the responsibility to deliver an exceptional advisory service to a diverse portfolio. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, inspiring, and developing a team of tax professionals to reach their full potential
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships, delivering high-value advisory services
- Expanding the client portfolio and spotting new opportunities for growth
- Representing the firm in the local business community, strengthening its profile and network
- Collaborating with other senior leaders to shape strategy and deliver on commercial goals
About you:
- Significant experience within a tax leadership role (Private Client or Corporate)
- CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
- A proven track record in business development and winning work
- Strong people leadership skills and a passion for developing others
- Commercially astute, strategic, and driven to deliver results
