Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated, fully qualified Electrician to join our team at HMP Rochester, a CATEGORY C & male prison.
Join a team that works Monday to Friday as a supportive and driven family, creating a safe and nurturing environment.
HMP Rochester operates like a self-contained town, requiring hundreds of staff to keep it functioning. Our Facilities Maintenance Team is committed to ensuring smooth and safe operations, impacting prisoners, staff, visitors, families, and the wider community.
As an Electrician, you will work alongside experienced colleagues including Plumbers, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all dedicated to making a positive difference and providing a secure environment.

Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate in BS7671:2018 (18th edition)
- Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services (City & Guilds/EAL), including NVQs and competency assessments (AM2/AM2S), e.g., 2367 or 2357
- Two years\’ experience as a fully qualified electrician
- Experience with commercial or industrial electrical systems
- Knowledge of planned and preventive maintenance
- Good Health & Safety knowledge
- Strong organisational, time management, and people skills
