Job purpose The purpose of this role is to work with the line manager to develop and maintain a food safety and quality assurance program, ensuring that products are safe, legal, and meet or exceed customer expectations.The purpose of this role is to work with the line manager to develop and maintain a food safety and quality assurance program, ensuring that products are safe, legal, and meet or exceed customer expectations. Duties and Responsibilities * Conduct internal and external audits, including GMP and metal detection audits, documenting any non-conformances and ensuring compliance with the quality manual. * Perform product testing, environmental swabbing, and staff training on quality and safety. * Liaise with pest control contractors as needed. * Manage and oversee equipment calibration, ensuring certification compliance. * Investigate complaints, identify root causes, log non-conformances, and monitor and report KPIs to the management team. * Update QAS documents for relevant products. * Support BRC and customer audits and visits. The person * Be organised, diligent, and detail oriented. * Possess problem-solving skills, with a continuous improvement mindset. * The successful candidate should possess a food science degree or have a similar QA/Technical background. * HACCP Level 3 would be advantageous. * Some experience in conducting internal audits would be desirable
