We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Measham Redbank team as a Production Operative on a Fixed Term Contract for 6 months.

The role involves actively participating in the manufacturing process to ensure all products are of the highest quality, with proper rejection of unsuitable items, while maintaining safety and minimizing downtime. The goal is to deliver products to their designated areas accurately, achieving process, customer, output, and quality targets. A proactive commitment to zero harm is essential.

Your duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Completing daily safety check sheets before starting work, reporting defects immediately, and adhering to risk assessments and safe systems of work. No work should commence if these are not in place. Report deficiencies to Steve Peach or deputies. Ensure proper labeling and understanding of substances used according to COSHH data and risk assessments.
  • Monitoring each stage of the process and intervening as necessary based on training and competence to ensure productive outcomes.
  • Handling and treating products correctly relevant to each production stage and method.
  • Addressing stoppages or malfunctions promptly and requesting assistance when needed.
  • Wearing all required P.P.E at all times.
  • Maintaining housekeeping standards as required.
  • Reporting health and safety issues or irregularities to supervisors or managers.
  • Understanding and adhering to risk assessments and safe systems of work related to your role.
  • Meeting output and quality criteria as per the Red Bank Incentive Pay Structure.
  • Ensuring materials are progressed according to management’s requirements.
  • Contributing to maintaining Zero Lost Time Incidents.

About You:

  • Possess specific functional knowledge, experience, and production techniques.
  • Demonstrate a high level of work ethic.

The role requires no formal education but a minimum of 3 months (or 12 months for Hand Moulder) of training from a competent operator, with close supervision and a competency review upon completion.

Training includes:

  • Company online Induction
  • NVQ Level 2 in Performing Manufacturing Operations
  • On-the-Job Training, COSHH, Lock-off procedures, Working at Heights, Spill Training, and other applicable training such as forklift, loader, dumper, hand tools, pallet trucks, grinding, tractor/trailer, and banksman.
