A high-profile opportunity has arisen for a Senior Payments Consultant to take the lead on shaping and delivering strategic payment initiatives for a major global operation. This role combines commercial insight with deep payments expertise, focusing on improving partner payout processes, maximising revenue opportunities, and enhancing customer payment experiences worldwide.
You’ll operate as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, translating business requirements into practical, commercially viable solutions, and guiding cross-functional teams through implementation.
Main Duties
Strategic Leadership in Payments
- Lead on all commercial considerations relating to partner payments, ensuring strategies align with market shifts and customer needs.
- Define a forward-looking payments plan and oversee its delivery.
Identifying and Capitalising on Opportunities
- Analyse existing processes to uncover inefficiencies or gaps.
- Prepare robust business cases to secure buy-in for proposed changes.
- Reduce obstacles in the payment journey to boost both revenue and customer satisfaction.
Collaborating Across the Business
- Work closely with product, technology, finance, risk, and compliance teams, as well as external payment providers, to bring initiatives to life.
Risk and Compliance Guidance
- Offer commercial interpretations of payment-related regulations (such as PSD2, PCI DSS, and sector-specific guidelines) and advise on practical application.
Skills & Experience Required
- Extensive experience (8+ years) in the payments sector, ideally covering B2B issuing.
- Strong commercial acumen, with proven ability to influence decision-makers.
- Track record of developing and executing commercially driven strategies.
- Skilled in managing diverse stakeholders and navigating complex organisational structures.
- Confident working with data to diagnose issues and highlight opportunities.
- Experience within travel, e-commerce, financial services, or similarly complex payment environments is highly desirable.
- Comfortable working end-to-end, from high-level strategy to detailed execution.
- Prior consultancy or fintech background beneficial.
