COWI is seeking a Market Director to strengthen our Water/Wastewater team in the UK and Ireland. Reporting to the Senior Market Director, you will be key in developing customer and partner relationships and driving growth in the sector. Your responsibilities will include:
- Expanding business development activities across the UK and Ireland to meet growth targets.
- Identifying leads and suitable partners for tenders in Water/Wastewater.
- Maintaining and updating the UK Pipeline and implementing the ‘Go/No/Go’ process.
- Coordinating capture and bid processes with technical and bid support teams.
- Developing and executing bid strategies, including commercial offerings and high-quality proposals.
- Managing customer relationships and frameworks.
- Participating in the UK market leadership team.
- Building networks with clients and partners, including key account management.
- Supporting strategic development and technical growth initiatives.
- Sharing market and customer insights with sector leads across the UK.
Our ideal candidate believes in strong leadership, delegation, open communication, and fostering an inclusive culture. You should:
- Be a Chartered Engineer with experience in Water/Wastewater.
- Have a background in water/wastewater design engineering, working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Possess technical expertise and leadership in work-winning.
- Have relevant business development or framework management experience.
- Possess an established network within the UK and Ireland Water sector, including clients, contractors, and partners.
- Have experience developing proposals and market initiatives.
- Be experienced in delivering water and wastewater projects from concept to handover.
- Understand legal, contractual, and financial issues in the sector.
- Have strong relationship-building skills.
- Experience in coastal protection and marine works is a plus.
